Matthew 21:1-5
1. When they had come near Jerusalem and had reached Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
2. saying to them, "Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me.
3. If anyone says anything to you, just say this, 'The Lord needs them.' And he will send them immediately."
4. This took place to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet, saying,
5. "Tell the daughter of Zion, Look, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of donkey."
Dear congregation, let us reflect on the magnificent work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the one who has made salvation possible for us. As we delve into His Word, we realize that there is no salvation without Jesus Christ. He is the only way to reach the Kingdom of God.
Through his sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection, Jesus Christ has completed our salvation. It is with great awe and gratitude that we should praise His glorious name. His name is indeed very high and very glorious.
Despite being the King of the Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ had a very humble mind. He fulfilled the prophecy of the Old Testament about His humility by demonstrating His love for us on the cross. Through his resurrection, He has revealed His kinship.
Therefore, let us not take our salvation for granted. Let us always remember the price that our Savior paid for us. And let us continue to honor and serve Him in all that we do. May the Lord bless us all. Amen.
