Joseph¡¯s faith is directed toward God. His relationship with his brothers is very complicated, and peace among them is difficult to achieve. Joseph¡¯s brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt, leaving him with a painful memory that remained with him. However, he transformed that memory into a testimony of God's salvation. This reveals the power of interpretation. Joseph said, ¡°Don¡¯t worry or blame yourselves for what you did. God is the one who sent me ahead of you to save lives¡± (Genesis 45:5). He had come to understand God's will, which brought joy to God. Joseph held great power in Egypt, yet he used that power for the salvation of others. This is God's miraculous way of saving the world, and we are all invited to participate in His salvation.

Genesis 45:7-8
But God sent me on ahead of you to keep your families alive and to save you in this wonderful way. After all, you weren¡¯t really the ones who sent me here-it was God. He made me the highest official in the king¡¯s court and placed me over all Egypt. |
